Mark: "If someone were just coming into the tech sector, give
us a names they should look at and do research on and consider putting in their portfolio. >>
"That is right with a big one, a little bit of out lier but a little bit reflective of our philosophy
is oh he indicationly you get opportunities to revisit the golden oldies and that would be
tellabs that is a company that we began investing in in the early 90s when it was a small
cap -- stock but we think right now the combination of absolute and relative valuation has
given us and opportunity to revisit this very attractive stock."
Scattered as it is from CNBC this past week...visitor analyist on call in and Tellabs.

TELLABS INTRODUCES THE VERITYTM 3000 SYSTEM
High-Density Digital Echo Canceller Enables Service Providers to Save
Floor Space and Reduce Installation Time

Lisle, Ill ? Tellabs announced today the VERITY 3000 system, a
high-density digital echo canceller and voice-quality enhancement
solution that enables service providers to reduce the amount of
equipment needed while providing unparalleled call quality.

The VERITY 3000 system provides echo cancellation and voice enhancement
processing of 48 E1 facilities in a 19-inch shelf. The VERITY 3000
system enables service providers to conserve floor space and simplify
system cabling through fewer external connections to power systems and
alarm-reporting interfaces. This reduces footprint and installation
time, two important areas of concern in today?s service provider
infrastructure. Each seven-foot bay holds six systems in the ANSI
standard configuration.

?Along with high density, service providers need unmatched reliability
and superior voice quality,? said David Powell, vice president and
general manager of the Tellabs Network Enhancing Technology Solutions
(NETS) Division. ?The VERITY 3000 system exceeds those needs, providing
state-of-the-art call quality and dependable data and facsimile
transmission in a limited amount of space.?

The VERITY 3000 system is ideally suited to cancel hybrid echo, which is
caused by electrical coupling at 2wire-to-4wire conversion points. Using
Tellabs Level Control (TLC) voice-quality enhancement, the VERITY 3000
system can also compensate for mismatched audio levels bidirectionally
on a call-by-call basis. TLC makes it easier for callers to communicate
effectively by improving the clarity and intelligibility of speech.

The system is currently available.

Tellabs designs, manufactures, markets and services data, voice, video
transport, switching/routing and network access systems. The company's
products are used worldwide by the providers of communications services.
Tellabs stock is listed on the Nasdaq Stock Market (TLAB).
