Aus, does Socket pay SNDK royalties?

Not to my knowledge.
They make CF+ appliances.
They are big CF supporters.

Palm IIIc review: My point exactly!

wiredguy.com

Normally in a review of a Windows CE device, this would be the paragraph in which I discuss the multimedia playback features of the PDA. The Palm IIIc is lacking tremendously in this area, and thus it is hard for me to make an evaluation. There is no MP3 Playback, no stereo sound, no voice recording, and consequently no headphone jack. One CE device I have can give you MP3 playback, stereo sound through the headphone jack, and voice recording. It also plays movie clips, one feature I'm sure Palm hasn't even seriously considered yet.

The Palm IIIc doesn't support any memory cards, CF/MMC/etc., making a memory upgrade almost impossible. Handspring on the other hand integrated their Springboard slot into the Visor. Palm should learn from some of their competitors and add some sort of memory expansion.
