You have to wonder if Bezos knew the Gleick article was going to be published in today's NYT
- Bezos posting of his "Open Letter regarding Patents" on Amazon's web site this week is,
perhaps, too much of a coincidence.

I doubt it was a coincidence at all. I do believe public pressure was building along with this article. That was part of it. The net has a way to deseminate information quickly which applies to a boycott as well.
