David, If you drive down through Roswell, Artesia then SE toward Carlsbad, Lovington or Hobbs, you'll see- (1) a heck of a lot of coyotes; and (2) a lot of drilling and workover rigs too in the oil fields of SE New Mexico... Just talked with my neighbor tonight from Martin-Decker Totco. He says that new independents are springing up everywhere right now- a sign of strength in the market... BTW La Fonda in Artesia is an outstanding Mexican Food Restaurant...But always packed by locals..Go late or early...
