Wonk, I've just received the patent, thanks to Mark L. on another thread. I had problems downloading it, previously. AMPS, you say? Curious. Does this evoke thoughts of some of Motorola's base stations in large urban settings which might be leveraged for this newer tech? Also, I had noted several days ago that their point to multipoint service strongly resembled the "Digital Termination Service" template of the mid to late Eighties. This too was designed to support both P-P and P-MP, using sectorization from main antenna sites which are now called cell sites, although I don't know if they truly fulfill cell functions yet as we are accustomed to thinking of them.
