I see you do not claim that commonly-accepted rational principles could be adduced in support of your position, and I can take no exception to your description of it as a mind-state. I'm sorry I misunderstood.

There is a position, credo consolans, among believers, in which the believer acknowledges a complete inability to generate a rational case for the existence of a God, but who asserts a belief in God based clearheadedly on a personal emotional need to have such a belief. (I happen to respect this position.)

Your situation isn't the same thing, but to me it feels a little like it's in the same ballpark. I could be wrong and won't argue about it.
