<<<Qwest (Q) - Shares of the communications services provider retreated $7.25 or 12.08 percent after Deutsche Telekom announced late Thursday that they were withdrawing their bid to buy Q and USWest.

Qualcomm (QCOM) - The provider of digital wireless communications products, technologies and services gained $9.12 or 7.19 percent after Motorola cited growing interest among Asian operators in the technology developed and owned by QCOM and used in Motorola mobile phones.

Exodus Communications (EXDS) - SG Cowen analyst, Raj Seth,
initiated coverage of the Internet system and network management solutions Company with a rating of a ?Strong Buy? and set a 12-month price target of $200. Shares of the stock rallied $6.00 or 3.78 percent.

eBay (EBAY) - Shares of the person-to-person Internet auction community surged $10.75 or 5.89 percent Friday after announcing plans to expand its existing ties with United Parcel Service Inc and Federal Express Corp as its overseas business grows.

Ariba, Inc. (ARBA) - ARBA fell $15.50 or 4.83 percent despite announcing the completion of its acquisition of TRADEX. Under the terms of the agreement, approximately 19,045,000 shares of ARBA common stock will be exchanged for all outstanding shares, options and warrants of TRADEX.

GOTO.Com (GOTO) - Traders helped shares of GOTO rally $9.25 or 19.32 percent in a delayed reaction to an announcement made Thursday of GOTO?s purchase of AuctionRover. GOTO will acquire the company for 3.47 million shares of stock, worth about $170 million.

Broadbase Software, Inc. (BBSW) - Shares of BBSW fell $4.50 or -3.5 percent despite Goldman Sachs initiating coverage of the stock with a ?Market Outperform? rating.

You mean OIL the stock or the commodity? <g> Either way I agree. Just when people are beginning to really worry about the price of oil, that means we probably are near the top. I sold my VPI shares last week for just that reason.
