And there's also "Alors, je te prends vers 7h", OK, I'll pick you up around 7. The French really don't hear words, they hear ideas from what I understand, and an illiterate francophone may not even know where one word ends and another begins. I'm not certain if it's the worst language for aural ambiguity, but it has to be close! Walk around Paris and every other sign on a shop or restaurant, and every other brand name is a pun of some sort.

For the nuclear power in France, I think they're still the heaviest users on the continent (heating, TGV, etc) but it's controversial. They couldn't easily switch to something else though, and the alternatives are not necessarily that clean, outside of windmills (but migratory birds don't like those.)
