Jeff, my recollection is that PAGE started to deploy digital, "smart" pagers in 1997 or so, and problems with that roll-out (Dallas, I think) were what began to turn the tide against PAGE--that and the success of pcs spectrum and systems. PAGE started running low on capital, cut back on the digital upgrade and began having problems with creditors etc. It has not been a pretty picture--hence its stock price before the "run-up".
