Great thread idea! Speaking of who kills whom: I remember a story I read many years ago where the punch line was "only a madman would give a loaded hand-gun to an idiot". The context being a gun advocate one day finding his challenged child playing with his loaded gun. This man was great and brilliant, but all his rhetoric and argument collapsed before the danger of seeing his most beloved daughter on the verge of death. Someone had given her the gun, and this brilliant and logical man spoke the above quote as he managed to retrieve the weapon and collapsed trembling with shock. The point is simply that this first person encounter with death was a revelation which surmounted his intellectual arguments. Is society a collective idiot?! Just wondering!
