Because so many people look silly nude.

Why should we legislate against people who want to be nude?

Being in the nude is something that all of us have occasion to experience. Lack of covering or the extent of covering in public is maybe the best place to start addressing your concern.

With or without legislation, society has a lot to say about the presentation its individuals make in public in this regard. Is it freedom of speech/expression to provoke other members of society with mannerisms that are by their nature offensive?

I do not like the idea of living in a society where it is the norm for people to walk up to my daughters and attempt to provoke some sexual response from them. I do not want women that I have no legal relationship attempting to provoke some sexual response from me. Of course these things happen no matter what but I like presumtion of the protection and safegaurds that the current situation affords; wherein, I have recourse when feeling harrassed.

The arguement we are about to have is whether or not public nudity is provocative in and of itself. I don't think you can get past this issue. If you do and the answer is, "yes" public nudity has an inherent provoking intent, then we should address the question of whether or not to legislate it.

Have Peace,
