mentioned several times now about a too strong US$ resulting from excessive Fed rate hikes

first reaction is currencies

a very strange phenomenon exists among Asian currencies
as the US$ strenghtens, most Asian currencies weaken
Japan REQUIRES the yen to weaken (largest exporting nation)

but as other non-Japanese economies weaken, their imports from Japan decline

so the domino effect of Greenspan's misguided efforst is to hit Japan indirectly, even as the G7 coordinates to weaken the JYen

Japan is a real anomaly

thanks to all for feeding my info
I am not that effective a newshound digging up stuff
