SB, Thanks, I agree with your long-term hold on this one. As far as Echelon having the only protocol in town in home automation, I'm not too sure of that, but these comments from Echelon re one potential competitor are heartening. It shows that lots of players in this space are standardizing on the Echelon protocol. From 1/7/99 Press Release re CES Microsoft Plug and Play initiative. Microsoft's Universal Plug and Play concept supports Echelon's vision for true end-to-end interoperability and open control networking. Echelon's LonWorks System, including the LonWorks Network Services (LNS) API and ActiveX© control, already support the Windows© operating system and have built-in Internet/IP support to enable seamless integration of data and control networks.
