Marconi Wins DSL.net Infrastructure Bid

(PR NEWSWIRE)
DSL.net Selects Scalable, Flexible Network Solution
Using Marconi TNX and ASX Switches

PITTSBURGH, March 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Marconi (LONDON: MNI), a leading
global supplier of advanced networking solutions, announced today that the
company is providing the core switching infrastructure for Internet Service
Provider (ISP) DSL.net, Inc. (Nasdaq: DSLN), a direct provider of high-speed
data communications and broadband solutions.
Based in New Haven, Connecticut, DSL.net selected Marconi as their network
infrastructure build-out partner. This selection was based upon the
scalability and reliability of Marconi's proposed network equipment solution,
as well as Marconi's support for traffic management and Quality of Service
(QoS) guarantees. The Marconi TNX-210 and ASX-1200 switches offered a
flexible solution for DSL.net's internal wide-area networking needs.
"Because of the flexibility of the Marconi products, we're able to scale a
customer's bandwidth based on their needs," said David Struwas, DSL.net
president and Chief Executive Officer (CEO). "Our selection of Marconi
supports DSL.net's continued growth by helping us deliver the high standard of
service our customers demand."
"We are very pleased to be chosen to deliver the scalable, high-
performance network equipment that DSL.net needs to continue to differentiate
itself in the marketplace," said Joe Pajer, Marconi's executive vice
president, routing and switching products. "Being selected by a rapidly
expanding service provider like DSL.net validates our ability to supply
solutions for industry innovators, helping them to stay competitive by
offering their customers superior solutions through a Marconi-based network."
