you are absolutely right about poor controls by Asians
their corporate system was extended and vulnerable
their absurd conglomerates, kereitsus, chaebols excerbate conditions
whole shebang was and is replete with cronyism and mindless lending

but Fed 1997 rate hikes elevated the US$, hurt Asian currencies, and thus rippled thru their vulnerable system

we started it, but they set up their own condition

no correlations of interest rates to QCOM etc directly
except that Asians are principal purchasers of CDMA phones and equipmt
and higher rates hurt the US stock market generally

strong perception of a Fed Chairman is as important, if not more important, than the reality of the Fed Chairman

he is not weak, but nowhere near as brilliant as people think
his biggest mistakes are totally missed by "experts"
your stock account would be 15-20% higher without the Asian mess
