Brian, sounds right. We used the Doors "Break on Through" (to the other side) on the LSI thread a few months ago.

AMD stock has some resiliency nowadays. Amazing what a competitive product will do for you.

So now, we always-calculating Intel investors can say that AMD pushing Intel in performance will in the long run help Intel in going after higher end servers. This will be because Intel should get to higher performance chips sooner. All the talk now is whether Sun is seriously challenged there by IBM. Once someone else makes top end open ground again, it'll be easier for another paradigm shift later with Itanium/McKinley, e.g. Lest we forget, the top end used to be all IBM, and Sun took quite a bit of it away.
