Digital distribution Via CDMA offers flexibility, security and time to market.

Is there any application of this technology to the home market, or pretty much limited to movie houses? Also trying to understand how the Air Fiber type stuff fits in with this. Sounds right now this is strictly "bowling alley," no possible tornado.

I was under the impression that CDMA was not being considered to distribute movies but that Q had efficient and secure algorithms for the satellite transmission.

Digital cinema will make it possible to open a movie nationwide at the same time. Small towns may no longer be "backwaters" running movies that played in the large cities months before. The open-close time (movie cycle) may be speeded up. On the other hand, reduced costs of not having to make prints and delivery may allow small-budget independent "art" films to find a market.
