At $6.00/sh. today's price works out to a 75 P/E. Six bucks is probably not too optimistic for 2002 earnings (year ending 6/2000). And, there is still growth potential from that level. Certainly it is worth holding my Rambus right now to see if $12 is achievable during that time period. If the patent case holds up, or even results in a reasonable settlement, $12 is probably conservative.

The story has changed tremendously in the past six weeks. Anyone who has not kept pace with it might well be confused on why former "excessive" valuations now look so nice.

The CFO, Gary Harmon, gave a 2.5% royalty on DRAM and 5.0% royalty on logic chips (Sony Playstation consoles, for example). The analysts, he said, are figuring 1.5%. I prefer using the CFO's numbers.
