LOL!!! I don't know - I already said a disclaimer about my story! <gg> So much to learn.<g> Every day almost we get a new and interesting story.<g> So we get to have new and interesting ways to think about the possibilities.

So changing the wavelength requires a change in the route. And if tunable lasers are used, you then need tunable filters.

The article said either passive or tunable filters so if that's the case, then would we assume that the laser tuning is simply to enhance the signal rather than change the wavelength and in that case a passive filter would suffice?

But if the wavelength is changed, and the receiver filter is passive and preset, then the new wavelength would have to be switched or routed to get to the specified destination.

That's my best guess!<g>
