That is exactly what my experience was with my mother. And it also is why dealing with the Alzheimers patient can be so poignant. The eyes are the window of the soul and you can see glimpses inside the person as though the curtains are pulled back from time to time ......because of this, it seems that no matter how bad the situation gets, you always have that glimmer of hope of just one last meaningful encounter....I hope Patti has many of those with her father before he is gone. bp
