A later post from RB, courtesy of 'digital_cable':

"ACTV: Signed a deal for Netsperanto.com in which Netsperanto.com will use ACTV's web authoring tools to provide content specific web sites to foreign born and first generation Americans. Starting in April Netsperanto.com will launch 7 web sites to initially target Chinese, Filipino, Korean, Russian, Polish, Indian and Vietnamese communities. An 8th web site will be launched called iStudentNet.com, which will help international students stay in touch with their home countries and local communities. Involved in the deal are both Chinese and a Russian TV stations. Things that make you say hummm. There is an interesting article in Barron's about 'keiretsu', which is Japanese for a business arrangement that describes cross investment and other aid between allied companies. I call the Dr. John Malone companies the 'Walled Garden', but the concept is exactly the same. Take a look if you have a chance. I'm not sure this URL will work but if it does it will lead you to the Barron's article titled 'Keiretsu West.' [no url was evident- Ed.]

Liberty Digital: Formed a strategic partnership with Alloy Online. Invested $54 million for 2.9 million shares at $19 per share for a minority stake in the website. Alloy targets teens and young adults with shops for clothes, accessories, shoes, cosmetics, music, and magazine subscriptions. LDIG will own 16.6% of the company after the transaction is completed. LDIG is making this and many other deals to position themselves for the release of their e-commerce TV channels due to debut sometime after September, and more likely near the end of the year.
