Hello John T. Clark! I've been reading your posts for quite a while, (I've been a daily lurker for about a year), and I want to take this opportunity to thank you for your insights and comments, prior to my membership here. You've always seemed to be a voice of calm, in the sea of emotion, that flows when this sector is at its most volatile. >> Why would you think the QQQ splitting would have an effect on the stock price? << Excellent point John! I momentarily overlooked that we're talking about an index that is traded like a stock, as opposed to a regular trading stock. >> Also, Dow Jones has started replacing "old economy" junk with NASDAQ hi-fliers like MSFT INTC to try to goose DJIA performance. CSCO SUNW and others may be next so the two indexes may resemble one another as time goes by. << Again, an excellent point. However, the QQQ's will also benefit from the same strategy, too goose performance, that the Dow enjoys, and I wouldn't be surprised to see them move quicker than the people controlling the Dow. QQQ is represented by several other sectors in addition to technology. Biotechnology, Telecommunications, Pharmaceuticals, Retail and several others. Perhaps enough of a balance to prevent a crash? We'll see. I like the concept though. Thanks for your input John, I sincerely appreciate it. ------------------------------------------------------------ Hi Big Bull! I'm on my own? Ok brother, that's nothing new for me. It takes courage to stand out in front and try new concepts, especially with moolah on the line. I'm not sure courage is synonymous with brains though. <ggg> Perhaps I'll just dip my toe in the water first. ------------------------------------------------------------ Now on to some oil business! It looks like Mexico is serious about increasing oil production. Is it possible that Mexico will be the first to break ranks if they are not happy with OPEC's decision?arabia.com ------------------------------------------------------------ This doesn't look good!
