Otherwise, he would have quietly turned over the research to authorities while publicly touting the stock. Instead, he published his findings here first. It is unfortunate that loudly pounding on the table causes many to reject the messenger. It is not fair that those who held this stock long in good faith will get only cents on the dollar while company insiders profit. A class action lawsuit, as lousy as they are for the stockholders, is the best of a bad situation. And you are correct, shorts can't profit from a class action lawsuit.
