Paul, re:<Where are AMD's contributions to the PC industry?>
3DNow - adopted by VIA (Cyrix and IDT). Purposely NOT adopted by Intel so that software development for non-Intel platforms would be more difficult.

EV6 Bus - Intel still plugging away at 133 MHz and using a processor bus with a very limited number of simultaneous transactions. While AMD didn't invent it, its obvious that AMD leapfrogged Intel.

When AMD achieves 25% market share, the industry contributions will proliferate. How can you expect AMD to dictate standards to the PC industry like Intel has?

By far the biggest contribution AMD has made is COMPETITION and LOWER PRICES. Far more significant than AGP 1X, 2X or 4X!

Also, I don't know who came up with ATA-66, but AMD platforms implemented it FIRST.
