Its as different as chalk and cheese.
The only element that may be familiar to you would be items from the TCP/IP protocol suite, which are sometimes included by the ASIC vendor.

The GSM call model structure roughly follows ISO OSI recommendations, but the final stack is complicated by grafts for Radio Resource Management, Short Message Services and SIM toolkit software.
