Tony - Re: "another design win for Intel from Big Blue "

Great find, Tony - Thanks !

IBM sure seems to have jumped back into the Intel camp lately.

First, their endorsement of Intel's 1 GHz Coppermine last week.

Then, since last week, IBM's ads on CNBC, featuring ThinkPad and Desktop PCs now feature the Intel Pentium III and/or Celeron endorsements as well as the Intel Jingle !!!

I can't recall IBM EVER USING the Intel Jingle and Intel CPU specifications in their TV ads before !

No wonder AMD has surplus AthWipeys - they seem to have lost IBM as a CPU customer !

Paul

Tony, RE: IBM Net Appliance

Deja vu all over again. This sounds very similar to Intel's recent announcement of an Intel branded net appliance, even with marketing through service providers.

You have to wonder if Intel has abandoned their branding plans, and is now working the business plan through OEM's. If not, they will be competing directly with IBM with the same products to the same customers, doesn't seem likely. Coopetition can only go so far.
