That's the NetBeans thing. It's been available since the acquisition (just about). I think the news there is that it's now foing into Linux distros. That's a pretty big deal and a major mindshare win for Sun/Java. -JCJ

As the resident Forte expert, what is you take on the latest news from Sun?

Not much. FJCE is the former NetBeans and so doesn't really have a lot to do with the end of the market that I deal in.

Does this mean the code has been available for a while prior today?

The binary has been available for a while. The latest announcement dealt with making the source available. As I said, this isn't really my pond. The early access stuff I have dealt with is the FJEE end of things.... i.e., the end that is likely to actually make money for Sun!
