Remember '90 when George H. W. BUSH had to cajol,push,hand-hold,shame,demand,and push the liberals into acting like a SuperPOWER in the Persian Gulf? People of the LEFT wanted to talk and talk, and talk, etc, etc, etc. They'd still be talking. Iraq would own Saudi Arabia, would have annexed Iran and you'd be turning tricks on the street to afford to fill your tank. If- you were in posession of the ration coupons.During the fuel shortage of the early 70's; might have been the fall of 73 I was filling my gas tank at 3:00am. I was a young State Trooper at the time . A friend had a gas station along the Interstate. My mid-nite partner and I would follow each other in the troop car and fill our tanks in the dark.If you found a gas station open during the day, the lines would be atrocious, they would check your inspection sticker or your license number. If your sticker or plate ended in an odd number you could only buy gas on odd numbered days like the 1st,3rd,5th etc.People (the a-holes) stole license plates .You could sit along the Interstate for 20 minutes without another vehicle going by.The bosses thought we went on strike. Nobody was writing any citations at night. They wouldn't believe that there just wasn't anybody out there. I didn't investigate any accidents for a week at a time. Those who were out at night were the assholes stealing gas. People were hitting their own vehicles with shotgun pellets when they heard/saw/thought there were gas thieves. Like a hunter taking a brush shot."I didn't know it was a hunter. The brush rustled, moved and I shot it". At least we had a LEADER back in '90. The touchy/feeley types have stopped drilling off shore,in Alaska, and everywhere else that would accord any independence for US.
What did Robert DUVALL say?.."I love the smell of NAPALM in the morning.." Sometimes it just feels good to" VENT" early in the morning. Gets the blood circulating.
Have a prosperous day. Later/Inpursuit

Good Morning! (even though) yes, I remember the crunch for gas, too. I got on the evening news one time during it ... folks helping push my car to the pumps because it had run out of gas waiting, moving up inch by inch. Wonder if that station is bound to dig out that old tape and give it a replay soon. Let's hope we don't soon get a real repeat of those times - rags to riches and back again in such a quick reverse and fast forward, who needs it? And the market wasn't doing so well in those days of simultaneous inflation/recession and job shortages either.
After the oil production of the Middle East was said to be cut back to be economically punitive and minimize their aggressive capacities, then now we want them to sell us the barrels and they must know why - will everyone simply shake hands soon and be nice? Maybe, if we ALL get REAL lucky.
OK, so we're talking about "It" now, of course been thinking about this lately. It's almost a relief to voice it. Almost.
