I had seen the Toshiba paper; I liked it. They wear their biases on their sleeves, so it's pretty easy to see facts through the marketing. The notes about yields were particularly illuminating, as was the assessment of DDR-II. I like to tease the Rambus bulls; in the absence of Intel's backing Rambus, I'd expect the DRAM companies to plump for a PC133 - DDR - DDR-II path for PC main memory. DDR has timing issues, but it can be made to work -- and for graphics applications (viz new 3-D cards), Rambus's stronghold, to boot. It'll be an interesting fight to watch. -mb
