I am starting to remember why I hated biotechs for years. The sector to me seems very dicey at the moment. The problem with the pharmaceutical industry and biotechs is the government. The sector looks a bit more problematic after the festivities of today. It is always something - a bad FDA study (Chiron), the socialization of the genome project (the whole biotech industry), the govt won't pay for a product or threatens very low reimbursement (the whole industry). I think the sector remains interesting but I could be give a very wide berth on option plays and not get too concentrated in the sector or an individual name. That would a stop closer to destroying a significant amount of your net worth.
