Thread: I found an interesting news item over at ML's site. Here is the relevant part of the article for us SUNW shareholders:

"BATM Signs Co-Operation Deal With Samsung Electronics"

MAR 14,2000

LONDON -(Dow Jones)- U.K. data communications developer BATM Advanced Communications Ltd. (C.BAV)...

[snip]

BATM also announced that it has been in discussions with Sun Microsystems Inc. (SUNW) since January concerning a "business relationship". The company said there was no guarantee these talks will result in a final agreement.

BATM said that, on Jan. 26, it offered Sun the option to acquire a stake in the company worth, at the time, GBP6.1 million. The option is conditional on the finalization of the business agreement between the companies.

BATM also announced that it lifted its pretax profit in 1999 by 133.4% to $8.453 million. It reported an unchanged dividend of 0.5025 cents per share.

My two cents: I sure hope this deal goes through.

Dear Steve: Well, all things considered, SUNW is holding pretty well in the latest selloff. If the market comes back ought to at least get back into 94. If we see 88 that would mean the whole market is down big time. JDN
