Third edition, 1999. I have the same volume. Maybe we can all learn together. Photonics 101. :) Pat

It was published November 1998. Originally someone recommended City of Light--The Story of Fiber Optics by the same author but it looked to be more anecdotal and I wanted something more technical. Obviously this industry is changing so rapidly that any book is out of date to some degree as soon as it comes out but at least it gives me a good place to start. I also look at lightreading.com daily and I would appreciate any other sources anyone might suggest. Ken
