Sir Apollo, first let me say that you were missed in SD.

Second, your request for a ranking G/K candidates by "growth potential" is a bold move asking us to go where no man (or whatever) has gone before.

Personally, the thread portfolio survey, as you said, will be the best indicator of our sentiments. Too bad we don't have real time portfolio surveys.

"Well, let's see what the G/K folks are doing today. <click> Oh, big move into ELON this week with lots of LEAPS CALLS in QCOM DIMS. What are all these momo stocks doing in here? Must be LindyBill playing that army thing he does. Hmmmm. Think I'll short ELON and buy some QCOM PUTS. "

LOL!

But I wonder if, once we have completed the Project HUNT list, it would be useful to try to rank order the list in some way, such as growth potential.

I suspect that you would get about as many different rankings as there are posters! Even if you picked one parameter, like growth potential, there would be a range of opinions about a range of time periods. Plus, you have the contrast between those who go for classic GG versus one of its more aggressive variations and the degree to which some of us are just more comfortable with some sectors than others.

Me, I'm just grateful to have a reasonably short list to look at!

Apollo,

Thanks to you and the entire thread for the great feedback on my ELON Project Hunt report. Is the Internet an "enabling technology" or what? All the factual stuff was culled from published data available right here on the Internet. The conclusions for good or ill are mine, and the welcome feedback has been invaluable--in many instances prompting me to do some more digging and thinking. I had one slightly OT private message that I particularly enjoyed. In part, it dealt with what I call my "individual investor fiduciary responsibility." I have been blessed with exceptional returns this year, and while I still sleep well at night, this new-found wealth has led to some new concerns. Since I'm determined to manage my money, I'm equally determined to manage it well. This thread helps.

Janet

Stan .. To quote pg 33 of TRFM

" The bowling alley stage is thus the earliest
moment that a high-tech company can truly define itself
as a going concern, because for the first time it has
committed customers and a protected marketplace to
support it in the years to come. As you will see in later
chapters, it is also the eariliest investible moment
in the gorilla game ."

Why not have the respective Project Hunt presenters
summarize where their candidate issue is with respect
to the "Technology Adoption Life Cycle" fig. 2.1 pg 23
and periodically update same ???
