I have one very hard and fast rule--don't stand in MSFT's path

helluva good rule...no argument from me there.

no cliff notes yet...still doing dd. but, if you look around the voice apps are coming and are everywhere.

i am trying to work myself into positions, in all the very high growth areas, where i can see possible monopolistic locks or discontinuous innovations or de facto standards..pre or in tornadoes. i leave next week on an extended trip and i am trying to get into a situation i think i can leave alone and not tweak for 6 months. i would love to get input on this. so far i see.

area..................probable play

embedded processors wind
storage ntap/emc
hdtv gmst maybe wgat
light bulbs/rf/microwave cree
wireless qcom, cree(base stations)
voice lhsp, gmgc
interconnectivity elon
OLED (Organic Light panl/lux.v
Emitting Diode) for flat
panel screens

then i see a group of companies that seem to be no brainers, sebl, ctxs are amoung them.
