Looking at it it I can see Yahoo wanting Ebay, or working closely with them. Yahoo has the largest amount of visitors to their site, but with auctions the problem has always been a question of not many of their listings sell. Mostly because most buyers use Ebay because they find what they want and going to Yahoo or Amazon is a lot of extra work. My feeling is if they can use Ebay's platform and combine the resources of both markets it would be a significant benefit for both parties. Yahoo could charge more money and get better results. Not sure how the agreement would be but maybe Yahoo could take a cut in each auction they handle on their site, or pay Ebay royalties. Either way it's a win win for both Yahoo and Ebay. Ebay get a major increase in auctions, and Yahoo get's better results for their sellers.
I think they should just buy em now while the stock is cheap (ha ha..) because if they do then Yahoo comes out a Microsoft of the Net, no one will dispute that..And the Yahoo Ebay Japan site will go absolutely nuts, my little prediction
