"I think he said ORCL was close to surpassing SEBL in market share in the areas where they compete head to head."

Hogwash. Word is all over the street that ORCL 'pads' their CRM numbers by basically giving away their newly minted (i.e. version 1 or should I say version 1/2...) CRM app to customers when they buy Oracle Financials etc.. Then they count it as a 'sale' of their CRM module. Classic Oracle ... you-know-what. Siebel is not concerned about Oracle in this arena. Now... in the new e-commerce CRM tornado that is forming Oracle has a slight chance. Maybe.. My opinion - for what it's worth - is that Oracle is the gorilla of the database market, a strong prince in the ERP arena and an also ran to the gorilla Siebel in CRM. The CRM market, by the way, is considered to be bigger than ERP. Larry knows this so he makes up with FUD what he can't do with an actual product.
