Motley fool's right on, in contrast to stuff put out by other like (i think nbc or reuters).

Investors did not read beyond the headline.

In any case, the more info in the public, the more gene based products will reach market or development stage, and the more the value of the underlying gene patents!

BUT, the reason it's a big plus IMO is that last fall, Clinton-Blair made headlines by saying gene patents should be banned. The timing of that statement was not right, and less people cared; in addition, the mechanism for banning those would seem extremely problematic. This time, C-B got much more political mileage out of their hype. But this time, they seem to reverse their stance 180 degrees on patents. A huge plus for all genomics.
