point # 2's an important one, anybody doing a halfway decent business in Canadian online trading would be able to snap all of us up in a second these days, so of course the one's we're stuck with wouldn't want to share the wealth!

I can see where some of the larger brokerage firms will perceive that SEG's business model could erode the potential of their future expansion plans.

I am confident that the bigger firms will have been banking on their ability to provide their clients with access to the far regions of the world that they would not otherwise be able to access. I also suspect that in part, this is why the commission costs associated an investor carrying a foreign trade is so high.

Up until now, the larger firms have had a sort of toll booth on the only road that investors have been forced to use to get to these exchanges. Now, SEG is building a new super highway that will by pass their toll booths, and offer their customers an alternative that has many advantages and value added services.

I also don't see it as a Win / Lose equation either. If the larger firms move quickly, and if they already have an established presence in some of the targeted markets, they could also become a part of SEG's listed of preferred brokers. However, I don't think that the window of opportunity will be open for too long. SEG seems to have been making some pretty significant progress towards their goals.

My bet is that SEG's plans are being discussed in many of the Board rooms of many of the big brokerage firms around the world. Do they ignore them, and hope they screw up, do they decide to fight them, or do they try to get on board and partner with them? Decisions, decisions.

I have say that I have looked long and hard at their business model, and I am having a hard time seeing very many problems with it.
