Re: Tradeoffs

The beauty of the G* system is that it permits tradeoffs such as you mention. This gives the local infrastructure authorities considerable flexibility as to how to scale the deployment, ranging from a G* phone booth up to a full-blown G*-linked WLL. I'm sure we'll see lots of variations and this is the key to what makes flexible deployment both attractive and feasible. Even with G*, infrastructure buildout is a process which will happen over many years. But by the time it is clear that this is happening the market will already have started to discount this scenario.

All of which says you have to buy stocks of good companies when they are hated if you want to be able to "buy low". GSTRF and LOR are certainly hated at this point, which is why I am buying now for the long haul.

I love the idea of WLL via GSTRF to wire rural villages, but how are they going to pay their phone bill? Furs? Manioc root? Maybe we can teach them to daytrade.
