Eric L: All of this jockying around is fascinating.

That the Europeans are playing hardball (oh oh mixing metaphors) is not surprising.

That some Korean and Japanese companies and even Motorola and Nortel would like to use any means (including FUD) to at least try to slow down the Q's "hegemony" (hey isn't that the term that the Communists used against each other and the US)is not surprising in the real world of seeking advantage for themselves.

But what is still odd to me is that the Q seems to have zero support or understanding in the media.

That is even more odd than that the FCC (and some in Congress) appear perhaps to be making life difficult for the Q and/or CDMA. (At least in that case the fine hand of McCaw [Nextel] ((and perhaps AT&T, Bell South, SBC etc. )) seems to be there in the background at least)

Could the same economic clout which seems to have some impact on the FCC and some in Congress have some influence in the media?

Why does the media seem to parrot the anti Q line?

Know that we will never really know the answers to these questions but it is interesting to speculate.

Still curious.

Best.
