Dear Ausdauer: (raising her hand) And I am one of them:

"...some SEG investors may actually look at the future value of SEG core holdings rather than the size (absolute # of shares) of the current holdings or their hourly market valuation."

I venture to say that when SEG made its initial deal with VRTS and established positions in other companies, SEG itself was looking at the future values. In doing this, SEG was doing exactly what many LTB&H investors do: look towards the future.

Maybe what we SEG shareholders should start doing is stop wondering what SEG is going to do with its VRTS holdings and start keeping a very close eye on _other_ companies in which SEG takes positions. In my book, SEG has demonstrated its astuteness in making superior investments. Modifying that old commercial for E.F. Hutton, maybe our chant should be: When Seagate establishes a position, its shareholders should, too--or jump on shares of privately held companies when they go public.

Regards,

Lynn
