Ames posted net $0.62 per diluted shares. Estimated net earnings was $0.16. Stock jumped to $21 3/4. My friend cmg made some instant money.

Due to write offs and expenses of consolidating the Hills stores, earnings of $2.20/share for the fiscal of 1999 netted $0.62/share. Note that tax refund played a large part in the profit and loss statement, due to the write offs. Last quarter earnings were $1.69/share for the X'mas season.

To run this year at $3.35/share estimated earnings. New store openings and continued same store revenue improvement is necessary.

Good luck AMES!
