Hi! Sorry to interject. Unfortunately their argument is that bids/asks are only trackers, suggested prices by MM but not actual bids/asks to buy/sell; the buyers/sellers will appear as best bids/asks. I've had run-ins with those people as well and they've "painfully" explained to me how they run things, to my disgust. They told me that the MM's are (of course) under no obligation to buy/sell if no buyers or sellers step up.

Yet one who's been trading options for a while will also notice how quick those MM's snap up options you buy/sell at limit when the going price overshoots your limit order. A money making game it is and they set the rules... that is until the SEC steps in again and make them clean up their acts.
