"I wouldn't assume anything significantly better than a flat showing." Mike, I for one am not expecting ?flat? earnings for Siebel this quarter for the following reasons. First, last quarters earnings were WELL managed by Siebel. They could have blown away their numbers and did not. As someone who works there stated concerning last quarters earnings. ?I have never seen the sales channel handled with such lack of urgency?. I.E. they were holding back on sales last quarter to make sure they had plenty in the tank for this quarter. And they knew they had last quarters earnings ?well in hand? so why not? In addition just look at what?s in store for us this quarter?(!) - IBM ? Largest CRM deal ever made (55,000 IBM users, 30,000 IBM business partners etc.. etc..). Tom stated that no IBM?s earnings were included in last quarters numbers. - Department of Defense Transportation Command. Siebel, via AMS, moving into the government sector in a big way. - British Telecom ? creating the ?World's Largest-Volume Communication Ordering System? - Add Deutsche Telecom to the telecommunications list of customers? (3rd largest carrier worldwide) - Home Shopping Network ? another 3,000 Call Center and Telesales sites. Not to mention a great ?lead? customer for this market segment! - Yahoo ? another huge win for a flag ship e-commerce customer! - GM?s Saturn (15,000 Saturn retail folks). And there are many others but I got tired writing about there.. In short? YES.. I think Siebel will ?make? their numbers this quarter.. and then some. Other interesting ?tidbits? that will affect Siebel in the short term future? Partnerships: - Too many to count ? at least right now. IBM, ITWO stand out in my mind as huge ones. Other upcoming major events ? other than blow out, yet well ?managed?, earnings: - Stock split? it?s going to be announced soon. Rumor has it 3 for 1 now. - Release of the Siebel2000 product line. Full bore e-CRM? taking CRM into directions never thought of a couple of years ago (i.e. redefining CRM into much broader categories.. moving strongly into e-commerce). - Possible SP500 addition. Article has penned JDSU and SEBL as the two top candidates for addition.
