Dear Lynn ... Thank you for the hand holding. Much appreciated, and helps rein my nervousness back in.

NTAP is very much a long term holding in my portfolio (as is JDSU and SDLI), and of course this company will continue to be a great performer over the long haul. But seeing such a hugh sell off this morning on JUST NTAP (out of those I follow), made me think some very negative news had come out. It was gut wrenching to sit here and watch it just go down thru the floor!!

And yes, I indeed know what you mean about staying away from the market when it gets too depressing! There was a lengthy period last summer when I paid no attention to it. I expect 2000 to be a great year, barring something totally unexpected.

JDSU - 269 to 200 - now, that would definitely be a time to stay away until sanity returned.

Great move on the Roth. I did that October '98 when the market was in the tank. Moved all my dogs (and I had alot of them at the time) to the Roth. That portfolio has quadrupled since, so it was definitely the thing to do. The only thing I regret is that I did not move more to a Roth at the time - in '98 one could spread the taxes over four years.

Good luck with everything.

Ivernia

WARMENHOVEN SAID ABOVE $500 MILLION!

Lynn, Hi! Can't these journalists read their own story?

Dan Warmenhoven, NTAP CEO, on a trip in Asia, said in a Reuters story dated 3/14 "This year, we are going to end the year above $500 million, up about 80 percent year-on-year." He also said, "Next year, I believe we stand a very good opportunity to reach $1 billion in revenue."

Take a look at the following headline from Reuters:"03/14 03:22 RPT-NETWORK APPLIANCE <NTAP.O> SAYS SEES $500 MLN REVENUE IN YR TO APRIL 2000 "

I find this very frustrating when these journalists make these kinds of blunders.

Anyway, this and the Datek situation regarding margins limit changes have certainly made for some wild swings. I told my wife that I've taken on a new hobby: BUNGY JUMPING OFF THE NTAP PRICE PLATFORM! What a free fall this morning!

Best,

Duncan
