re: Not so sure I agree w/you that power transmission lines are also being "groomed" for two-way data transmission capabilities.

From the news release..

<<Customers deposit money onto a smart card at an authorized teller machine and then place the card into their in-home display unit. The money is then electronically transferred from the card to the smart meter over the power mains. Signaling between the display and the meter is accomplished over the power mains using Echelon's PLT-22 Power Line Transceivers.

They also go on to say that the power company will be able to do disconnects and meter reading over the power mains.

I'm not saying for high speed, just low bandwidth stuff.. Still that is first time I have seen two way data communication over power mains to households. correct me if I'm wrong.

ole49r,

Why are you worried about the phone being tied up, what with cable, DSL, and wireless?

I DO love the way management manages news at expiration. It gives me confidence when I sell puts.

Expecting your 3 book recos to show up in a few days. I'm having a difficult tax season, so I may not get much reading in for another month. But I'm looking forward to it. Even though Street Smarts, for instance, is $175, it has already paid for itself via that one pattern you showed us some weeks back. Gracias!

Cheers, Tuck
