WIND just struck again late this afternoon; they made a strategic investment in Highlander. One of Highlander's products--"Visibroker is based on the common object request broker architecture (CORBA) and is the most widely-deployed CORBA implimentation with more than 30 MILLION licenses worldwide.

Visibroker is used extensively in the telecommunications field, in flexible network management and other infrastructure applications. CORBA allows devices to communicate through an open standard and is one of the major distributed object infrastructures."

"Visibroker embedded object request broker (ORB) is compatible with WIND RIVER RTOS.
WIND RIVER's support allows us to continue to strengthen this powerful technology," says Ken Black, president of Highlander.

The pins are falling so fast I cannot keep up.
Wind rallied last few minutes of trading on the news and last I looked was up a little more after hours. I will put the link up later. Copying from a fax now. WIND is busy consolidating at internet speed!

Regards, Huey

The Yahoo classifieds were a good place to compare WIND and INTS prior to the merger. You can glean some good insights from individual ads, but you have to page thru a lot of duplication. I'm not sure why the number was so low for ELON, but perhaps the jobs are being advertised somewhere else.

I don't feel comfortable predicting a timeframe for WIND. The company is going thru a major transition and we need to see how this plays out.
