BGR, Obviously I'm in no position to provide the data. But I can say with some degree of certainty that: The public school system is worse now than it was when I was a boy. The streets are less safe than when I was boy. The subways and other forms of public transportation are worse than when I was a boy (but better than a decade ago) The roads, bridges and sewer systems are worse in most major cities. The total tax bill is way way up. I could go on. >>(majority rules, that is)<< I didn't get your point, but I do understand the simplicity benefit. I think it is an error if we are trying to get at reality. We only seem to go out of our way to get to reality if it benefits government. That's my major point. (g) Wayne
