As a Canadian, I'm afraid to say that most of our economic stats or the Bank of Canada's monetary or fiscal policies don't have a significant influence on the markets as compared to the US Fed and Monsieur Greenspan. In fact, I no longer listen to what Theissen has to say. He is usually just riding the coat-tails of Greenspan.
