Fuji Bank To Offer Internet-Based Forex Trading
Thursday, March 16, 2000
TOKYO (Nikkei)--Fuji Bank (8317) plans in April to begin offering an Internet-based foreign exchange trading service with a system supplied by Forexbank Co., a unit of the Softbank Corp. (9984) group.

The bank will initially offer the service for corporate clients, but it also plans to target individuals interested in forex trading. In the beginning, the service will only be available during business hours, but Fuji Bank plans to expand to round-the-clock operations. The service will feature yen and dollar transactions, expanding gradually to other major currencies, including the euro.

The bank hopes to use the new service to offer its clients a simpler and more convenient method of foreign exchange transactions.
